Ian Cockerill
Ian Cockerill continues to work as a journalist after a career stretching back to the 1980s, when he first reported on the AFL, NBL and, occasionally, the NSL for The Sydney Morning Herald. The years that followed included being a Walkley Award finalist (sports feature writing), a sportswriter for The Age and Sunday Age, a Fairfax columnist at the 2000 Olympics, ghostwriting athlete biographies, and a memorable period as communications manager for the Sydney Swans. A former editor of Men's Health magazine, he also edited the official 2003 Rugby World Cup website and covered the 2004 Athens Olympics and 2006 FIFA World Cup.
