Troy Hunter
Troy Hunter is an adult and YA crime fiction writer, living in Melbourne/Naarm. His debut novel, Gus and the Missing Boy, was published in March 2024 and was shortlisted for the Ned Kelly Best Debut Crime Fiction Award and the BAD Sydney Danger Award for Best Debut Crime Fiction. The sequel, Gus and the Burning Stones, was published in August 2025. He is currently working on an adult crime novel and a third Gus novel.
He is passionate about getting reluctant readers, especially boys, to read. He regularly appears at writers’ festivals, runs writing workshops, and is also the co-host of the Queer Writes Sessions podcast.
