Trevor Thompson
Trevor Thompson is a retired journalist, working mainly in radio but also in television and online over a career spanning four decades. He was Chief of Staff in the ABC’s Sydney newsroom for more than ten years. He has written four books on football history and enjoys recruiting and training young reporters. His previous books are One Fantastic Goal (2006), Playing for Australia: The First Socceroos, Asia and World Football (2018) and Burning Ambition: The Centenary of Australia-New Zealand Football Ashes (2022), the latter co-authored with academic, Dr Nick Guoth.
