James Vella-Bardon

James Vella-Bardon is a Sydney-based, award-winning author born and raised in Malta. James qualified as a lawyer after reading law and history at the universities of Malta and Sydney. In 2005, he completed a doctoral thesis on the self-determination of Indigenous minorities. Upon emigrating to Sydney in 2007, he also studied creative writing. Ring of Ruse is the last instalment in his epic, award-winning pentalogy The Sassana Stone, which tells the story of a Spanish Armada castaway in Tudor Ireland, who joins the struggle to liberate western Ireland from brutal suppression.
